Domain-specific features detected by comparison of D1 and D2 domains. The Sequence Logos were generated by submitting 62 aligned tandem domain RPTPs to the Blocks server. Only RPTPs with both D1 and D2 (full-length) sequences available were compared. See Methods 2004 for details.

This alignment supports our definition of orthologous relationships among human, fly and worm PTPs (published in Andersen et al. Methods 2004). It contains 79 PTP domains including 18 D2 domains. In the search & tool section these pre-aligned sequences are used as template for our PTP subtype classification tool.
